Hey HLX fam, it’s your boy Ronald Lindsey AKA “Ron the Real Deal”. I want to start my first HLX article out by saying, it is a pleasure and honor to write for the number one online magazine out there on the world wide web HLX. Something really disturb yo boy a month ago when I first heard the lyrics to Usher single “I Don’t Mind”. I must admit, I was take in by the music as most folks would be. After a careful listen though, I was like “what the Frito” is this mess I am hearing. “I don’t mind if you dance on a pole that don’t make you a Ho”. Now, I’m thinking to myself, who is this an anthem for, a Pole Dancing convention maybe. The lyrics are so degrading to our sisters that I am shocked none of our beautiful queens haven’t cried foul.
You see, I don’t take kindly to no man degrading our women by suggesting they can only get a head by sliding their cracks up and down a metal pole in thongs and G-strings. How about he don’t mind them being CEO’s with a nice portfolio’s. He also mentioned in the song how he has enough money for the both of them. Then why would you keep her dancing on a pole if you can take care of the both of yawl? It’s crazy! I know some may feel I am tripping by focusing in on the lyrics to an Ushers song. Well, we need artist out here who can be responsible for the gift and fame they have been entrusted with. Artist like Corey EL, who is a featured artist of HLX. He dropped a joint call “Better” and it is not only inspirational but the music is hot.
I wondered why Usher didn’t say, “I don’t mind my momma dancing on a pole or maybe his daughter dancing on a pole and that won’t make them a Ho” The reason may be he has two sons and no daughter’s in which he would mind if some man told her, “he don’t mind her dancing on a pole and that won’t make her a Ho” This is a message to all our beautiful queens out there. Don’t be so doggone desperate for attention that you settle for any kind of crap that comes over the airwaves. Our young daughters are listening to this foolishness and thinking this must be what men want. Real men look for self respect and decency in their women. The next time a man tells you he don’t mind you dancing on a pole and it won’t make you a Ho, Please, kindly tell what he can do with the pole. This is Ron the Real Deal say Usher gets a NO Sirrrrrr! on this one. Until next time. Yes Sirrrrrrr! HLX out.
