Hey HLX Fam, it is your boy “Ron the Real Deal” coming back at you. When I was coming up we use to look forward to showing up to school with the lyrics to the latest song. The kid who had the lyrics first got cool points with the girls? It was easy to get the lyrics because they were right on the back of the album cover. I remember when Hip Hop was in its infancy and you can listen to a song a few times and knew all the lyrics right away. Raps song like Rapper Delight, The Message by Grandmaster Flash were easy to remember and fun to listen too. What has happened?
We must demand they come out with material we can all understand. I just want to know what they are saying without having to guess or ask for an interpreter. You see, I don’t have this issue with artists featured in HLX publications. These artists do not have a problem with us knowing what they are talking about. I caught the BET 2015 awards show on and believe me you, I was not able to understand even half of what the artists were saying except for the few old schooliers. I challenge our viewers to examine the lyrics of some of their favorite songs and let me know if I am right on this one. Please keep your ears and eyes open and allow HLX to keep you in the know. This is yo boy “Ron the Real Deal” giving a big Yes Sirrrrrr to anyone who can identify lyrics that make absolutely no sense in their favorite songs. Until next time, tune into the #1 online magazine HLX.
