Talent is something that isn’t hard to find amongst local artist or businesses. With that being said, it can sometimes be difficult to keep up with everything as it happens or we may stumble across older content that we still feel deserves to be recognized. Because of this, we would like to introduce to the newest segment here at HLX Magazine, entitled The Catch Up. The spark things off, due to some scheduling as well as health issues, we missed a quite a bit of activity from the one and only Corey El.
War Video
First, he provided us with a visual that is more on the rough and gritty side compared to what we normally see from the soulful artist. He debuted the video on his Facebook page declaring that in Summer ’16 he needed to ‘get a few things off of his chest’. The video, while short, makes a bold statement in his mission to stand out from those who ‘suck the value out the craft’. Check out the video as well as the original Facebook post below.

Summer ’16 has finally arrived and Virginia artist/producer Corey El is back to get a few things off his chest! This is just a TASTE of what’s to come so stay tuned for the oncoming wave set to touch down very soon!

Til They Know
It seems however that War was simply a warm up or signs of things to come. Shortly after the video he dropped a new project called ‘Til They Know’. The 6 track project has features an intro, interlude and 4 full length tracks. All of which he wrote and produced himself, with the exception of the ‘Hurt Again (Interlude)’ which feature some guest production from another Corey. Corey Michael. The EP is definitely worth a listen. If you pay close attention, you may hear what sounds like some shots being fired, but idk. The project was posted on his SoundCloud which linked below.
