Welcome HLX Reader to My First Business/Politic Article of 2015!
This Particular Article Required A Lot of Online Investigative Work Due to the Lack of Information That Was Available to the Public. What the FBI Has Called an “Improvised Explosive Device” Went Off at the Northeast Corner of the Building at 603 S. El Paso St. Colorado Springs, CO, Which Houses the NAACP Office and Mr. G’s Hair Design Studios, January 6, 2015 Around 10:45 am. The Explosion Occurred Adjacent to the Wall of the Barbershop, No one Was Injured. The Building Was Not Damaged Beyond Charring on the Outside Wall. Police Initially Reported That an Explosion Had Been Heard Outside of the Barbershop, but the FBI Became Involved Because of the Proximity of the Blast to the NAACP Office and Because an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) was Used.
Authorities Have Not Confirmed Details of the Item Found at the Scene, but Gene Southerland, Who Owns the Building and the Barbershop, said Police Told Him the Explosion was Caused by a Flare and a Type of Pipe Bomb next to a Gas Can, Which Did Not Ignite.Thomas Ravenelle, Special Agent in Charge from the FBI’s Denver Division, said the IED was not a Sophisticated Device. The National President of the NAACP Cornell William Brooks Visited the Colorado Springs Area Last Weekend to Promote Unity in Response to the Recent Explosion Outside the Building Housing the Local NAACP Office. Sketches of the Possible Perpetrator Have Been Drawn Up and Investigated But There Have Been No Arrests Yet.
Although “Bombing” by Definition Would Be the Correct Word to Describe What Happened to the Building, the Photos of the Damages Are Very Insignificant. This Writer Believes the Intention of Malice Was Greater Than the Ability of Whoever is Responsible for This Attack & Hope Justice Will Be Served Soon.
