Fall Is In The Air

The seasons are starting to change and fall is finally making it’s way in! I’ve been dreaming of crisp cool days and comfy sweaters since the first day of summer. It’s something about the brisk air that’s so much more enlivening than the heat wave we’ve been dealing with. I swear it gets no better than fall. With autumn quickly approaching, I think it’s safe for you to start cycling out your closet space. It’s time to store away those sun dresses, daisy dukes, crop tops, and gladiator sandals and replace them with autumnal flare!

Quirky Cokoa’s Fall Fashion Must Haves

“Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year. Style is what you pick out of that fashion.”

The good thing about MOST fashion is that it will never go out of style. With fall being my absolute favorite, it’s only right that I give you my must haves of the season! I’m a very simple girl when it comes to getting dressed. I like to be cute, but comfortable. There’s a lot more where this list came from, but these are my essentials (in no particular order).

1. Over the knee boots: One of the hottest fashion trends. This popular 60’s and 70’s trend has come and gone, but they’re back and here to stay. I prefer my OTK boots without a heel, but every now and then I like to get sexy. Black and brown are my go-to colors when it comes to shopping for the perfect boot, however, they do come in many different colors and prints.

2. Boyfriend Denim: These are no passing trend. Who doesn’t love a good pair of boyfriend jeans?! This trendy demin has been in for years and I’m pretty sure they’re here to stay. The bagginess make the sloppy-casual look very easy to achieve.

3. Leather Jacket: Gotta have it! It’s like spring’s denim jacket, and winter’s pea-coat. Just like I have to have my jean jacket during spring, and my pea-coat in the winter, I HAVE to have my leather jacket in the fall. They are so light in weight and literally goes with just about anything. The key is, you have to find the right trim for every look. However, you can dress them up, or dress them down. You can’t really go wrong with one of these bad boys.

4. Over-sized Cardigans: This is a very popular trend! Cardigans are a fun way to spice up your outfit. Of all the different ways you can wear them, oversized has to be my favorite. I just love the way they hang. Not to mention they keep you nice and toasty.

5. Fashion Scarves: I know I said these weren’t in any particular order, but fashion scarves are at the top of my list. If I don’t have any other accessory, you can guarantee that I have on a scarf. I prefer an infinity scarf, but that’s just me.  Scarves come in so many styles, sizes, colors, and patterns that you are sure to find a scarf that fits you!

6. Beanies: You can never go wrong with a beanie, especially on a bad hair day. Lucky for us, fall brings about the perfect temperature to pull these babies out.  These particular hats have always been in style – you just have to know which type of beanie hat to purchase and how to properly wear it.

7. Combat Boots: Combat boots are so versatile and can really be worn in any season. However, these are the perfect shoes for fall. Combat boots pretty much make any feminine look [work] during the day, or night. Like I said, I am all about being comfortable, and these shoes are both cute and comfy. They come in so many styles, colors, and prints now that it’s almost impossible not to have a pair.

8. Over-sized Clutch: Now, I’m not big on purses. I’d definitely carry a messenger bag before I carry a purse, but I do have a new found love for clutches. BIG clutches. They are so chic. It’s something about it being strapless that I really like. Not to mention the fact that I barely carry anything with me. They are the perfect size for me to carry what I need.  They literally make clutches for all types of occasions; whether you’re dressed up or down, there will always be a clutch to match.
