What is it about 90s R&B? Why, after so many years has no genre truly been able to give us THAT feeling. The 90’s is home to many great memories and moments in history but Rhythm & Blues is truly QUEEN of that era. Speaking of Queens…
La Shana Latrice has a growing catalogue of quality R&B, Pop, Reggaeton and Dance tracks that we here at HLX can’t get enough of. By now you’ve heard “I Choose You” from our previous installment. “Show Me” is the latest in releases that captures your eyes, ears and satisfies that 90s black girl magic feel that has reigned for over 30 years.
“Show Me” starts with a QFX ReRun Boombox, a staple in early 90s Miami (trust me I know). La Shana’s beauty makes all her visuals stunning but the lighting and spotlight in this video in particular create a whole vibe that displays her growth as an artist. Vocals are never an issue when it comes to La Shana’s music. I personally enjoyed “High” & her “Girl of my Dreams” Chris Brown cover when doing research. La Shana’s range and tonality are pitch-perfect. The lyrics aren’t overly done and crafted in a way that makes it easy to just enjoy the song without having to decipher anything. I love the fun that La Shana is clearly having in all of her music videos. The choreography is also always on point and dark lighting only helps give it that sexy 90s vibe.
I humbly believe this is her best work to date but I say that with a new video and EP on the way…
With all of that being said, La Shana Latrice music and recent success is no fluke. The overall quality and experience her music & visuals has is far from novice. She has definitely found a new fan in this writer and we here at HLX look foward to all of her new projects. Follow her on Facebook and Instagram.
